The Story Behind
It all started from my fascination with the quiet rhythm of bamboo craft villages in my hometown, Nghe An, that I have been visited since a child, yet it saddens me hearing my grandpa telling about struggle hides behind every handmade product. When I began researching how government policies shape these communities, I realized that policies on paper often tell a different story from what happens in the villages.
Thats when I decided to did a research on the Policy Effectiveness in Promoting Economic Growth of Bamboo Craft Villges, taking evidence from my own hometown. Long afternoons were spent reading provincial documents, tracing the evolution of local support programs, and talking to artisans who shared how their livelihoods changed—or sometimes didn’t—because of those decisions.
There were moments of frustration, when data didn’t align or when policies seemed too distant from people’s real challenges. But through that process, I learned to see policymaking not as abstract bureaucracy, but as something deeply human—rooted in empathy, context, and inclusion. Writing this paper was more than an academic exercise; it was a way for me to reconnect with my hometown’s rural identity and imagine a future where growth and preservation could coexist.
